For applications requiring temperatures above 250\u00b0C or pressures above 300 bar, the standard autoclave design with a plug and screwed head becomes unsuitable. This is either due to the pressure exerting forces incompatible with the strength of a threaded connection, or because high temperatures require low-compressible seals that necessitate precise torque. In such cases, TOP Industrie designs and manufactures batch reactors with bolted heads, where sealing is ensured by Kalrez, PTFE, or metal gaskets.
